The client

The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) is a tripartite European Union Agency, whose role is to provide knowledge to assist in the development of better social, employment and work-related policies.

Eurofound provides information, advice and expertise to support the EU Institutions and bodies, Member States and Social Partners in shaping and implementing social and employment policies, as well as promoting social dialogue on the basis of comparative information, research and analysis.

A Fresh Start

Eurofound were looking at a complete overhaul to their existing visual identity. They were keen to keep their logo, but required a complete brand refresh which would be supported by two separate visual guidelines – an online version that would deal specifically with digital outputs and contained an extensive library of all componants contained across their web/digital outputs and also a printed version which dealt specifically with all offline content. Both versions also contained detailed guidelines on styling data visualisations.

After extensive conversations with Eurofound's Creative Director, I initially produced a fresh visual ID that was applied to mock ups of their existing print publications and across their various web pages. Once approved, these designs were then transposed into the visual guidelines, which were in turn used as the basis for the roll-out across new collateral. This roll-out was steadily addressed directly by the client across a three year period, ending with a full website refresh in 2024.

I also created a range of templates for such items as social media posts, email newsletters, and the EU PolicyWatch database microsite.
